A North-East furniture and interiors company has opened a new showroom in Newcastle city centre following a growth in commissions for its bespoke kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms.
Family-owned PMH Interiors, which is run by Paul and Michelle Harrison, specialises in furnishing homes to clients’ tailored specifications. Paul, who graduated in Design Craftsmanship from the University of Northumbria has grown the business since its inception in 2006.
The company has located its new showroom on Rutherford Street and shares a building with top-end Danish brand Bang & Olufsen. The two firms are currently planning a prestigious VIP launch event that will take place later this month. PMH Interiors also shares close ties with high-end homeware brands Miele and Aga.
Paul Harrison, director at PMH Interiors said: “We're thrilled to be in a space right in the heart of Newcastle with a brand as exceptional as Bang & Olufsen. They've been fantastic to work with getting the showroom up and running, and between us, I believe we've got something really special to offer people wanting the best for their homes.”
Since working on the same refurbishment job in 2009, Paul and Martin Wakefield from Newcastle's Bang & Olufsen store began working towards sharing a show space, which they have now achieved when the joint showroom recently opened its doors.
Martin said: “What we have here now is a gallery of the finest products across a range of industries that you could enjoy in your home. Customers can come to our new lifestyle showroom and enjoy a unique display of audio visual, furniture, kitchen and interior design products unlike any other showroom in the North.
“As you would expect, it is fully staffed by experts in each field who are here to advise and guide visitors on the latest designs and technologies that could make their homes easier to manage and more enjoyable.”
Paul and Michelle also manage a team of four highly-skilled craftspeople based at a workshop in Throckley in Newcastle, which has expanded three times since 2006, to allow PMH Interiors to fulfil new contracts. To coincide with the launch, PMH Interiors has also launched its new website www.pmhinteriors.co.uk/ to help potential customers get a feel for the quality of its craftsmanship.
“We've always worked closely with our clients; we do what's best for them, we don't go for the hard sell and I don't think we've ever let anybody down as a result. Now we've got our showroom open, we can't wait to meet even more people and show them the work we do’.
“The showroom kitchen is fully functional, so when people come in, we warm up some croissants in the Aga, make some fresh coffee and have a chat with them to see how we can help,” added Paul.
The growing company designs, crafts and fits bespoke interiors including flooring and freestanding furniture to private clients’ homes and retail businesses across the region.
